Our Approach

We build tools grounded in biology — not trends.

GRIZX Lab was shaped inside elite sport.

Our founder began playing football at three years old and progressed through elite pathways to compete at the NCAA Division I level. She understands performance pressure from the inside — including the reality of injury, expectation, and the psychological demands of competing at the highest standard.

She later consulted for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) via Sports Rights Solutions and worked both internally and independently with FIFA, focusing on athlete safeguarding, wellbeing, and mental health. She co-authored the IOC Mental Health in Elite Athletes Toolkit.

Through years of playing, working, and researching in elite environments, one truth became clear:

Sport is a microcosm of society.

The pressure an athlete feels before a final
is not so different from the pressure someone feels before a presentation.

The fear of injury
mirrors the fear of failure.

The scrutiny.
The expectation.
The self-doubt.

Different arena.
Same nervous system.

What We Know

Mental health is physiological before it is psychological.

When the nervous system is dysregulated, clarity declines.
Decision-making narrows.
Stress amplifies.

Research across neuroscience and performance science shows that slow, extended exhalation activates the parasympathetic nervous system — shifting the body out of fight-or-flight and into regulation.

Heart rate lowers.
Stress hormones decrease.
Cognitive control improves.

You cannot think your way into calm.
You regulate your way into calm.

This applies to Olympic finals.
And to everyday life.

Why We Exist

GRIZX Lab was born in elite performance environments — but built for everyone.

Because pressure is universal.

Anxiety does not discriminate by job title.
Stress does not require a stadium.

The same biology that governs an elite athlete governs a parent, a student, a founder, a nurse, a teacher.

Calm is not exclusive to high performers.

It is a skill available to anyone willing to train it.

We exist to make that skill tangible.

Not abstract.
Not guesswork.
Not hidden behind stigma.

The Standard We Hold

Everything we build is grounded in:

• Evidence-based nervous system science
• High-performance insight
• Practical, usable design
• Radical openness around mental health

No hype.
No shame.
No silence.

Just tools that work from the elite level all the way to everyday life.

From the Founder

I have lived with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

I know what it feels like when your body reacts before your mind can reason.
When you understand the theory — but your physiology won’t cooperate.

Playing at an elite level and working inside global sport organisations showed me something powerful:

The arena changes.
The nervous system doesn’t.

GRIZX Lab was built to bridge that gap.

Because calm is not a personality trait.

It’s a skill.

And I believe everyone deserves the tools to own it.
